Three things that are easy to get wrong before you travel

Each of these has a fixed window. Once it closes, the choice narrows to a later departure or a later arrival date. Ourdate calculator turns your own travel dates into the three days you have to act on, free and without an account.

Laos eVisa assistance

The eVisa requires three working days to process, and a single incorrect detail restarts the application.

Digital border forms

Laos asks for one form before you enter and another before you leave, and neither can be filed earlier than three days before that journey.

We file each one inside its own window and send it to you one to two days before you travel, by email and on WhatsApp.

Laos train tickets

Booking opens seven days before departure, at 06:30 Vientiane time, and in high season seats can be gone within minutes.

A first Laos route

Your first Laos route does not need to cover everything.

Follow the railway for an easy northern trip, then add the south only if you have enough time to enjoy it.

How this site works

The forms are free. The tickets are public. The timing is the problem.

The border forms cost nothing to file, and Laos–China Railway seats are sold to anyone. Neither is available on the day most travellers remember to deal with it: each register opens three days before the crossing it covers, and seats open seven days before departure at 06:30 Vientiane time. That is what we sell, and every price is shown in full before payment.
