This notice explains how the website, Stripe checkout, external partners and sensitive passenger information are kept separate.
Reading the site
You can read Lao Travel Guide without creating an account. The site does not currently use advertising trackers, marketing pixels or a newsletter form. As with most websites, the hosting provider may record standard technical information such as an IP address, browser type, requested page and time of access for security and reliability.
Contact messages
If you email us, the address, subject and contents of your message are received by our email provider and used to reply to the request. An initial message should contain only the information needed to understand your question. Do not attach a passport copy, payment card or other identity document to a general enquiry.
Booking and document services
The train selector sends the chosen route, date, train, seat class, passenger count and fallback instruction to a Stripe-hosted checkout. Stripe processes the payment and collects the payer’s contact details. Lao Travel Guide does not receive the full payment-card number. Payment starts a booking request; it does not by itself confirm that the railway seat is available.
Train ticketing, eVisa assistance and arrival-form filing require identity and travel details because the official record must match the traveller’s document. Passport details are not placed in Stripe metadata and must not be sent in an ordinary enquiry.
The secure service forms send the details directly to the Lao Travel Guide server. Each request is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is written to private storage, and the unencrypted passport data is not saved in the browser. Access is limited to the people handling the selected service. A notification may be sent when a new request arrives, but it contains only the service, time and reference—not traveller details or passport files.
We use these records to review, prepare and complete the requested service, answer related support questions and meet applicable accounting or legal obligations. Sensitive documents are kept only for as long as they are needed for those purposes, then deleted from the active service store. Quote the secure reference when requesting access or deletion.
Affiliate and official links
The site links to official Lao government services and selected external hotel, eSIM and tour partners. Leaving this site means the destination website’s own privacy and cookie policies apply. An affiliate link may include a referral identifier so the partner can attribute a booking to Lao Travel Guide.

For a privacy question about information you have sent directly to Lao Travel Guide, emailhello@laotravelguide.com. Include enough context to locate the message, but do not resend the sensitive document in the request.
